Hola amigos:
Este post es de despedida. He decidido dejar Bosques de mi Mente en descanso durante un periodo indefinido, seguramente para siempre. Con Ruido Blanco he explorado el minimalismo en el piano hasta donde creo que ha sido interesante, y la trilogía de albumes me ha permitido expresar la melancolía, nostalgia y soledad de tres maneras diferentes. Espero que en breve se publique en Clinical Archives y CRLM Office Netlabel el último album de la trilogía (os informaré puntualmente cuando esto suceda), Ruido Blanco, y es posible que de algún concierto en Madrid para presentar el album y a modo de despedida. Espero que hayais disfrutado y sigáis disfrutando de la música de Bosques de mi Mente. Respecto a mi quiero tomarme un periodo de descanso y explorar otras sonoridades… retomar la guitarra, meterme en el mundo digital y del midi, y de sonidos más sinfónicos y electrónicos, aunque aún no he decidido si será bajo los bosques de mi mente o bajo otro nombre…

This is a farewell post. I have decided to leave Bosques de mi Mente into a prolonged hiatus, most probably a definitive one. With “Ruido Blanco” I have finished exploring the piano minimalist sound I was after with “Bosques…”, and the trilogy of albums have allowed me to express the melancholy, nostalgia and loneliness in three different ways. I hope “Ruido Blanco” will be released soon in “Clinical Archives” and “CRLM Office Netlabel” (I will still keep you informed about this), and I will surely perform some shows at Madrid for introducing the new album as well as a farewell. I hope you have enjoyed (and keep enjoying) the music of Bosques de mi Mente. As of myself, I plan on taking a long relax period and explore other sounds… take the guitar again, learn something about midi and digital recording, and explore something in a more symphonic/electronic vein. I haven’t decided if it will come under the forests of my mind or just under another name…

Hola, ultimamente han ocurrido muchas cosas. La edición de 50 copias de “LoFi” ha sido encargada, y con suerte estará lista para finales de abril. Por otra parte, he terminado de grabar el nuevo disco, “Ruido Blanco”. Es un disco de música sencilla, minimalista y melancólica. Tiene 14 temas (una hora de duración), y se centra en el concepto de la soledad, la distancia, el aislamiento. La inspiración para el disco me ha venido de verme a mi mismo aislado en una nueva ciudad, encerrado en una habitación dentro de un conglomerado de hormigón y cemento, a kilómetros de mis amigos y familia. El proceso de grabación ha sido bastante doloroso, y he estado a punto de no sacarlo, pero creo que es una catarsis que necesito llevar a cabo. Estoy subiendo el disco a la red ahora mismo, mientras escribo, así que lo tendréis disponible muy pronto. El arte gráfico del disco ha sido desarrollado integramente por Stefan Banaszkiewicz, y he contado con la colaboración al violín de Marta González. A ambos les estoy eternamente agradecidos por su ayuda, comprensión y por hacer “Ruido Blanco” posible.
Hi, there have been lots of things happening for Bosques de mi Mente lately. The edition of 50 physical copies of “LoFi” is on the way, and if everything goes well I expect to have it by last April. Besides, I have finished recording and mixing of the new album “Ruido Blanco” (white noise). It is just an album of simple, melancholic and minimalist music. It has 14 songs (about an hour long), and revolves around the concept of loneliness, distance and isolation. The inspiration for this work has come from my own situation since I released “LoFi”, isolated in a new city, trapped in a room around a mess of cement and asphalt, far from everyone I knew. The recording process has been somewhat painful, and I was about to drop the album, but finally I have decided to release it as a way of catharsis. While I write this, the album is being uploaded to the net, so you can expect having it ready soon. The artwork and cover design is by Stefan Banaszkiewicz, and Marta González has helped me recording violin for two songs. I am in debt with both of them. Stefan, Marta, thanks, you have made “Ruido Blanco” a reality.

Por fin, “Trenes de Juguete” está disponible en CD físico para comprar. Al final los gastos de fabricación han sido menores de lo que esperaba, por lo que podéis adquirirlo por 3€ más gastos de envío. Para ello podéis ir a la página de música o mandarme directamente un email. Creo que Paypal y transferencias bancarias son buenos mecanismos, admito sugerencias. Aquí os dejo algunas imágenes del cd. Recientemente se ha publicado una reseña de mi disco “LoFi” en “The Silent Ballet”. Podeis leerla aquí. Personalmente creo que la gente no termina de entender que, en “Bosques…”, no deseo hacer música compleja, ni sorprendente, ni reinventar nada, simplemente expresar lo que siento. En cualquier caso la reseña es agradable y la crítica constructiva, que siempre es de agradecer, y creo que bastante acertada, además.

On a Personal note, I think people keep on pretending my music to be complex, surprising, or innovative… I don’t wanna reinvent nothing with “Bosques…”, at least at this time, I just wanna express what I feel inside. In any case the review is a very nice one, done with respect and I mostly agree with it, so please doesn’t hesitate to take a look.
